YOU ARE NOT AN ACCIDENT

You are not an accident.

Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature.
Your parents may not have planned you, but God did.
He was not at all surprised by your birth. In fact, He expected it.
Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God.
He thought of you first. It is not fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are breathing at this very moment. You are alive because God wanted to create you.

God prescribed every single detail of your body. He deliberately chose your race, the color of your skin, your hair, and every other feature. He custom-made your body just the way he wanted it.
He also determined the natural talents you would possess and the uniqueness of your personality.
Because God made you for a reason, He also decided when you would be born and how long you would live. He planned the days of your life in advance, choosing the exact time of your birth and death.

God also planned where you'd be born and where you'd live for His purpose. Your race and nationality are no accident. God left His purpose. Your race and nationality are no accident. God left no detail to chance. He planned it all for His purpose.

Most amazing, God decided how you would be born. Regardless of the circumstances of your birth or who your parents are, God had a plan in creating you. It doesn't matter whether your parents were good, bad or indifferent. God knew that those two individuals possessed exactly the right genetic makeup to create the custom "YOU" He had in mind. They had the DNA God wanted to make you.

While there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate children. Many children are unplanned by their parents, but they are not unplanned by God. God's purpose took into account human error and even sin.

God never does anything accidentally, and He never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything He creates. Every plant and every animal was planned by God, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind. God's motive for creating you was His love.

God was thinking of you even before He made the world. In fact, that's why He created it!
God designed this planet's environment just so we could live in it. We are the focus of his love and the most valuable of all His creation. God loves and values You.

Why did God do all this? Why did He bother to go to all the trouble of creating a universe for us?
Because He is a God of Love.
This kind of love is difficult to fathom, but it's fundamentally reliable.
You were created as a special object of God's love!
God made you so He could love you.
This is a truth to build your life on.

The Bible tells us, "God is Love." It doesn't say God has love, but He is Love!
Love is the essence of God's character.
There is perfect love in the fellowship of the Trinity, so God didn't need to create you.
He wasn't lonely. But He wanted to make you in order to express His Love.

God says, "I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care of you from your birth. Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when you hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you."

If there was no God, we would all be "accidents" the result of astronomical random chance in the universe.
You could to believe in God, because life would have no purpose or meaning or significance.
There would be no right or wrong, and no hope beyond your brief years here on earth.

But there is a God who made you for a reason, and your life has profound meaning!
We discover that meaning and purpose only when we make God the reference point of our lives.
"The way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us." (Roman 12:3)

Verse to Remember: "I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born." (Isaiah 44:2).

Selesai makan, kami naik bentor lagi menuju Pantai Losari. Kami pun mencoba satu porsi isi dua scoop rasa vanilla dan durian :P no comment!! Hanya kami masih beruntung Cuma beli satu porsi saja :D

The Last Day of Christine

Christine is a charming, feminine and friendly teacher. She is one of a quiet but wise teacher that I had ever seen in my school and today is the last day of her in this school because she will continue to teach in other town.

We are four good friends in our school although we seldom talked but we have good relation and sometimes we hanged out together for having dinner after school. Like today, we are going to mall and having dinner for her farewell party.

We eat and chat in many topics, sometimes we laugh together and free crackers from restaurant accompany us loyally ;) We can feel our hearts become one and the last of our gathering times come. We take many pictures in much style for memory and we hug each other with tearing happiness, sadness mix in one.

When will we meet again? We never can predict it. We just hope one day we will meet together again. We changed our phone numbers for continuing our relationship but we can not sure that we can be together, just hoping one day we will be together again.

I asked her to stay in my house for a day and she likes it. I am very happy then we walk together to the bus station, waiting for the bus to take us home. Along the way to my house, we are talking, talking and talking. We do not care surrounding just talk and sometimes laugh together, it is so exciting. Talking without ending, many things of topic we talk and never feel bore to discuss it.

We are in my bedroom now and we still keep talking, although our voices whisper because it is almost midnight but we never feel sleep. And we laugh without roaring laugh just in whispering to break the silence.
The time is going on and the sun will arise soon but we still talking and laughing together like we never want to finish our conversation but we have to.

We have to stop our interesting conversation about many things to continue our life as usual in our routinely in the morning, so we stop talking and sleep in happiness.
We woke up a little bit late and after breakfast she went to her place to pack her things and would meet with some friends of her whom wanted to say goodbye to her.

And I stayed in my house to do my duty in house for a week that I left it:P While I was washing my clothes, I got her text message that said she met her friends first before packing and we planned to go to my brother's house to see his bag store because she liked to see and perhaps she wanted to buy.

Soon I did my home duty faster and at afternoon, I was ready to pick up her from her place to my brother's store and I took a bus but the traffic was jam and I got text message from her because she has not finished yet packing her things so we cancelled our planning and I would come to help her packing things.

I arrived to her place and I saw her face so tired and her body was weak and I asked her what had happened? And she said that she could not sleep in her place anymore. Actually she got problem in her place that made her could not sleep well every night for a year and she had told me while we chatted last night so I asked her to stay with me until tomorrow night she go home, and she agreed and step by step she looked all right and I thought she really has a big trouble in her place that made her scare to stay again.

After finished packing, we went out for having dinner but we did not feel hungry so we just ate ice cream and chatted, shared again. This time she opened about her life why she did decide to back home although truly she still like to stay in this town to work and having friends like our friendship. Actually, I liked her to stay here too so we can still meet together.

We talked long till late night then we went directly to my house by taxi and in my bedroom, she talked a lot and shared more. Our friendship we felt more than just as friend but as sister as we are. I wish I can help more to her but I just help as can as I do.

That is what a friend for. A place to talk, always opened to help and care.
And I am very happy to have a friend like her.
I found a best friend and a pretty sister that I never have before.

My Worst Day on Joel's Birthday

Today is the tenth of Joel's birthday, my sixth nephew of ten nephews and nieces from my brother-sister :P
I plan to cook Fried Noodles and Chicken Wings for him  although I never touched kitchen stoves for thirteen years ago. My sister bought them for me to cook yesterday and I did not think that she bought me dried noodles. :P

While they are going to church on Sunday Morning, I start to cook and clean the house for three hours before they come home. It is worst. The noodles were soft, I forgot to dry noodles after boiled :(
And Fried Chicken Wings looked bad. It took much time to make them fried because they were still cold from refrigerator. I am down and disappointed  myself but it happened.

When they came back, I said to them, "The noodles were soft and Fried chicken looked bad, please don't feel disappointed." My mom grumpiest me and my brother didn't want to eat the soft noodles, it made me sad. But my sister ate soon flattered me: "The taste is delicious in soft noodles." so no problem to her and my nephews ate then they said: "Those were delicious although looked awful." :D they laughed and liked them to add more portion:)

I was curious in my upset and asked my nephews; "Why did you like them, don't you say that you just want to make me happy?" Joel said to me, "Auntie, your food is delicious, truly. And I like them and want to add more although those are bad look and I thank to your effort on my birthday, auntie. I am happy"

I am very happy what he said to me and I said to him, "Happy birthday Joel, may your birthday has sweet memories. God blessed you." What Joel said to me, "Yes auntie, I have Sweet Memory on my birthday with soft fried awful noodles and chicken wings but delicious tasted and I will never forget it :D".
He laughed and we laughed together.

After ate and celebrated Joel's birthday, his sister has ballet performance today and she wanted me to make up her face. Off course I liked it but what a worst day for me today. I left my make up tool in my office after made up my students on Easter Day. So I made up her with the rest tool kits that I left here.

"Look at the pretty ballerina" said her father to her and her mom was happy to see her make up is beautiful and again she praised what I had done :) Soon she went and her parents sent her and picked her up later. When the parents came back, my sister told us that my make up did great, everybody in back stage praise the make up of my niece. I was very proud to her. She is pretty and beautiful girl.

Well, now I am happy. I have wise sister and wonderful nephews and nieces. And I am very proud of them and always want to help and make them happy too. On Special Day of Joel today is my special day too to have encouragement and support family that I have.

The Homeless

"We are homeless until Christ is at home in our hearts"

I have seen them curled up on park benches in Chicago. I;ve observed them asleep in doorways within the shadow of the White House. They slump against the walls of a New York subway. they huddle in the alleys of Los Angeles. They are the homeless, restless, furtive, often sick.

To me, homelessness illustrates the human condition without God. The Bible says, "All we like sheep gave gone astray" (Isaiah 53:6).

To deny God, as so many people do today, is to be homeless in a world He designed for His own glory.
To abandon His moral law is to drift aimlessly.
To deny Him is to make life meaningless.
To refuse His love is to sink into the coldness of despair.

The answer to the human dilemma is to believe in Jesus Christ.
The early church leader Augustine (354-430) said, "Thou hast made us for Thyself, and the heart of man is restless untill it finds its rest in Thee."

To trust in Christ is to come into the warm and loving family of God.
To hope in Him is to look forward to a heavenly home that will last forever (John 14:1-3).
To receive Him is to become part of His wolrd of truth, morality and peace.

Are you feeling homeless? Come home to God. (Dave Egner)

Many Counselors

"Where there is not guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory"
(Proverbs 11:14 NASB)

In Proverbs, Solomon often counsels us to obtain advice from a wise man. But instead of obtaining advice from only one wise man, here Solomon directs us to gather advice from many wise men. Why is this?

If many people gave us their advice, but they all agreed with each other on everything, then we would learn nothing new. That is why we need to listen to advisors who disagree with each other.

By hearing from a wide range of opinions,. we are better able to choose the best advice.
(1 Corinthians 11: 18-19)

Example:

Wilby had a problem. He didn't know which brand of toothpaste to buy. He decided to try this new opposing viewpoints idea he'd been reading about in The Fallacy Detective.
He decided to go around and ask different people what they thought.

Wendy (a store assistant who offered to help): "This type with Oxy white Pro is guaranteed to make your teeth whiter in twenty four hours." (Wilby noticed that toothpaste brands with the Oxy white Pro sticker were twice the price of other brands.)

Phoebe (a friend of Wilby's): "Wilby, I think you'd have such a cute smile if you tried to get rid of some of those blueberry Popsicle stains in your mouth."

Judd (another friend) : "Toothpaste? What's that? Real men don't brush their teeth."

Wilby's mom: "Wilby, it really doesn't matter, as long as you don't buy anything that contains fluoride additives. You might come down with some terrible disease in a few years if you use fluoride."

Austin (Wilby's co worker) : "I only use Hug A Tree Brand. It's made by a very environmentally conscious company from Denmark. And they promise that they don't test their product on whale."

Bob (who works out at the health club with Wilby) : "I heard on a talk show that if you chew organic mint leaves, then your breath will smell good without having to brush your teeth."

Wilby concluded that he was worrying too much over nothing. He decided to keep using the brand of toothpaste he'd always used. It had always seemed to do the job. But now he understood more about how different people made their decisions.

We gain at least two benefits from looking at opposing viewpoints:
1. By studying new viewpoints, we gain the opportunity to change our own views if we are wrong.
We would never have this opportunity if we only listened to things with which we agreed.
2. By studying new viewpoints, we can better help others. When we study a viewpoint which is wrong, we
    still learn many things.

No one has the time to evaluate every viewpoint on every issue, but we all can be diligent to learn more about alternative views.
This is another important part of having an Inquiring Mind.

Love to Listen

This lesson is about listening and the benefits that come from listening. Some people just don't like to listen.
You don't want to be like that.

Example:

One day, Bob goes over to a friend's house for a potluck dinner. Afterwards, Bob notices a circle of the guys over in the corner having a discussion. He catches a snatch of what they're talking about, and he interjects a few thoughts on the advantages of old farm tractors.
After several minutes, Bob pauses. There is silence among the former conversants as they try to imagine where he is coming from. They had been discussing the difference between male and female car drivers not farm machinery. Bob chalks their silence up to shyness, and he starts talking again on little known facts about farm machinery.
As the men begin to drift away, Bob becomes more and more animated. He thinks they must not be getting what he is saying. The remaining men wait for a pause to interrupt Bob courteously. Finally, one man shrugs, mumbles something about getting somewhere on time, and strolls away. Everybody else does the same.

What is Bob's problem? Is it that Bob just talks too much? People who know Bob might agree. However, is it possible that his porblem is deeper? Can it be that Bob simply does not like to listen? Did he enjoy telling people what he thinks more than he enjoys listening to what they have to say?

A wise man will hear, and will increase in learning,
And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel. (Proverbs 1:5 NASB)

In this verse Solomon tells us that wise men try to listen to others and that is how they learn things. A spririt of listening goes a long way to communicate an attitude of humility.

Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak... (James 1:19 NASB)
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens... (Proverbs 12:15 NASB)

A person who is humble and who loves to listen, may show these characteristic :
1. He is more interested in hearing what other people have to say than in having them listen to him. Humility brings respect for others and for their thoughts.
2. He places a modest value on his own opinions, he admits that other people often have better ideas than he does.
3. He willingly admits when he doesn't know something. If he doesn't understand something, he is open about it.
4. He is willing to question his own position on an issue.

If a person shows these qualities, then he may be someone who loves to listen. And being a person who loves to listen is another ingredient to having an inquiring mind.

INQUIRING MIND

The Fallacy of Your Mind.

What is a Fallacy?
A Fallacy is an error in logic where someone has made a mistake in his thinking.

"Lesson on How to Recognize Bad Reasoning"

Example:

Farmer Ed: "Like I told your father, your aunt Mabel and I haven't made a profit from the farm for years now."
Young Nephwe back from Agricultural College: "Why don't you try changing some of the way you do things on your farm?"
Farmer Ed: "I think I'll just stick to what I've got going right now. I don't have the patience to try this new system you're talking about. I'd have to unlearn a lot. Your grandpa always said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I like your optimism. Farming needs people like you, but we're pretty settled here at the farm."

Farmer Ed looks at his nephew's new ideas and he sees too much hard mental work. He doen't believe he has the energy to rethink all that he's learned about farming.
Farmer Ed might be willing to do the physical work, but it takes mental work to change, and that's what he's afraid of. Thinking is hard work.

As Christians, we have the opportunity, the obligation, to use our minds to serve God. We must discipline our minds the same way an athlete exercises his body.
We must exercise our minds so that it does not hurt anymore when we try to use them.

This is the first quality of an Inquiring Mind.

The Most Important Lesson

During my elementary school years, I began to compare my mother with all the mothers of my friends. Most often, I would compare her with the mother of my best friend, Tiffany Sherman.

Tiffany always came to school with the most fashionable clothes, the most beautiful makeup and the most instyle hairdo. Her weekly allowance could feed a family of five in Cuba for a year, and she had more jewelry than I had grass in my backyard. She coordinated her shoes stantly had a glamorous group of people following her, and more or less, she always got her own way.

All of the boys in school would have killed to have her for their girlfriend. Tiffany was allowed to go to rock concerts, to go places alone with a boy and to have two sleep overs in a row which three things that my mom had never let me do. Her mom showered her with money for things she did that my mother took for granted, such as getting good grades and making the bed. Whenever I went to the mall with Tiffany, she would whip out a crisp USD100 bill, and I would be standing there with two fives and a handful of quarters.

Whenever I didn't get what I wanted, when I wanted it, I would scream out the classic,"Tiffany's mother would let her! I wish she was my mother." My mom would calmly say-every time-"Poor Tiffany."

Tiffany got to boy that USD200 outfit. "Poor Tiffany." Tiffany got to hire an interior decorator to redo her room. "Poor Tiffany." Tiffany had a television in her room complete with DVD player and surround sound system."Poor Tiffany."

I never understood my mom. She shouldn't be feeling sorry for Tiffany! I thought. She should be feeling sorry for me! Tiffany had everthing, and as far as I was concerned, I had nothing.

One day, I had heard it one too many times. I cracked. "Poor Tiffany?! Lucky Tiffany! She gets everthing she wants! She practically has the world at her feet, and you're feeling sorry for her?!" I burst into tears and flopped down onto the sofa.

My mother sat down next to me and said softly,"Yes, I do feel sorry for her. I have been teaching you a lesson, hope, that she will never be taught." I sniffled and looked up at her."What are you talking about?" My mom looked at me with sad eyes. "One day she will want something, really want something, and she'll find out she can't have it. Life doesn't work like that, you know. You don't get every thing you want. Her mother won't always be around to hand out cash, and what's more- money can't buy everything.

"But you! I have taught you valuable lessons by not tossing you every dollar you desire. You'll know how to look for bargains and save money- she won't. You'll understnad that you need to work hard to get the things grown woma, she'll wake up one day and her mother's money will be gone and she will be wishing she had a mom like the one you've got. Life lessons, Hope, are more important and necessary than rock concerts and Gucci clothes."

I understood my mother's lesson. It took some time, but I eventually understood it. I look forward to the days when I am a smart woman and I know how to fend for myself. And I will truly pity those who won't. "Poor Tiffany."
